How to Get Started

In order to get started, you will need to call the studio at 402.292.8020.  I do not sign up students on the first lesson.  Rather, I schedule a one time teach/interview lesson to see if we three---teacher, parent and student are "ready to learn." At the end of the lesson, I ask the student to go home and ask God if this is the time and teacher he or she wants to study under.

Call me!

For information and/or a COMPLIMENTARY interview lesson. 402.292.8020 -- Faye
The student must call me back.  If the answer is yes,  we will complete the enrollment form and schedule the next lesson.

Lessons

By taking lessons people can avoid forming bad habits. Learning the correct techniques can save a lot of  time and the frustration of trying to learn on your own.  A designated day and time will be established for your 30 minute private lesson.  Regular attendance is essential for the student's success.  Because of increased enrollment I will not be able to make up lessons missed for changes in your personal schedule on or before that day, other appointments i.e. dental-medical or forgetfulness.  If you must change your appointed time due to a new work schedule, please give at least three weeks notice so that I may rearrange other willing students.  Terminating students are expected to give me at least a two week notice.  Refunds will not be given.

Requirements

Piano students are to bring their books, a manuscript pad and a tape recorder to their lessons. You also need to own an inexpensive metronome for practice at home.

Lesson Tardies

Please be on time for your lesson. Tardy students will be taught in the remaining time. If I am absent,  I will make up the lesson.

Practice

All students are expected to practice daily and record their "woodshed" practice technique.

Recital and Scale Party

Faye's Music Studio hosts a recital in May.  All students are invited and encouraged to participate.  Our recital gives students the opportunity to prepare two pieces of music to be performed for their parents, family and friends.  Additionally, all students can participate in the "Scale Party."  Students are recognized for playing their scales by memory.Â
